New Delhi, April 27 (IANS) Four family members of Sarabjit Singh were Saturday granted visas to travel to Pakistan to see the critically injured Indian death row prisoner who was brutally attacked in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail.
“Four members of Sarabjit’s family have been given visas to visit Pakistan,” an official said.
The ministry of external affairs facilitated the visas for the family members.
Sarabjit Singh, who has been sentenced to death row for spying, was admitted to Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital after being brutally assaulted by fellow inmates on Friday. He is in a coma,
His sister Dalbir Kaur, who has been spearheading the campaign for his release, his wife and his two daughters, are to travel to Pakistan. They arrived in Amritsar Saturday morning from their hometown Bhikiwind, 50 km from Amritsar.
