Shimla: A new academic session is about to start at Himachal Pradesh University and already problems are beginning to mount for the new comers are having to face a lot of problems in seeking admission in the first place.
A huge crowed of applicants can be seen on the campus fee counter. Though hundreds of students are coming for admission to different courses but with there being are only two fee counters, the queues are only getting longer and longer.
Besides, no guidance desk has set up by the university administration to help new comers with the admission process.
Much to the apathy shown by the administration, different student organizations have set up desks to help out students, especially those from outstation to take admission in their chosen field of study.
Post Graduate (PG) examinations forms are creating another set of problem for the applicants. There being not enough examination forms available at the counters, students converging on the campus from all over the city are struggling to obtain the much in demand forms.
Whereas semester examinations for PG classes are scheduled to be held over the next two months but results of different courses are still to be announced by the university even after a lapse of more than 4 months since the last examination was held.
Though many students organizations are agitating and raising their voice over the mess of affairs but the authorities continue to turn a deaf ear to the many problems that the students community is facing.
