Shimla: Concerned about the rising number of road accidents, a photo exhibition for creating awareness among the youth against rash driving was recently organized in Himachal Pradesh University.
University Vice Chancellor ADN Bajpai, who visited the exhibition said, “life is a precious gift from God and one should respect it. Careless driving may bring a terrible end to it.”
Pictures displayed at the exhibition revealed some very basic reasons that result into road accidents and were mostly related to rash or drunken driving.
Organised as part of the National Student Union of India (NSUI) foundation day function, on April 9, the exhibition was well attended.
Speaking on the occasion YadupatiThakur, NSUI president said that “rash driving was a major problem with youngsters that often resulted in accidents leading to major disabilities or even death.
Campus NSUI president Keshvanand said that all, which included students needed to follow traffic rules and regulations while driving for one’s own safety and for the safety of others road users which included pedestrians.
