Mumbai, March 29 (IANS) Television actor Sachin Parikh, who is ready with his second play “Rishton Ka Live”, says his intention is to protect theatre and expand its reach.
“This is my second play as a producer. My first play starred Padmini Kolhapure and Mahesh Thakur and it was called ‘Saath Rahega Always’,” Sachin, who was seen in “Na Bole Tum…Na Maine Kuch Kaha” and “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge”, told IANS.
“I want to protect theatre. There are so many films and new outlooks of entertainment, but theatre has its own charm. Theatre has risen to an experimental level, but it is still not commercial. I want it to reach a platform where it will reach maximum people,” he said.
Even though acting and ads keep him busy, Sachin takes out time for plays.
“Producing is time consuming, but I am trying. Right now I am doing TV and advertising together. As far as marketing of plays is concerned, after my first play, I have created my own market and performed all over. People are waiting for my next play to release,” he said.
In terms of planning, he goes “with the wind”. “I have a few commitments. I will be starting a show soon (on TV)… I am doing advertisements in South too. I have done Tamil ad films as well,” he said.
