Shimla: Settling for a proposed annual plan of Rs 4100 crore for 2013-14 that is 11 percent more than the current one, the government today finalized the priorities after holding discussions with all the legislators.
Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Virbhadra Singh said that the 12th five year plan approved for Himachal was Rs 22,800 crore, which was 65 percent higher than the previous one and was the highest increase in the country among all states.
The government intended to approach apex rural bank NABARD for funding development schemes to the tune of Rs 475 Cr for 2013-14, whereas target for the current financial year was Rs 400 Cr, said the chief minister.
The government had decided to take finance priorities of MLAs under centrally sponsored schemes and should the need arise funding could be obtained NABARD, he added.
Finance secretary Shrikant Baldi said that with fixing of the plan size, a draft annual plan would be drawn up that would detail the sector wise allocation for funding needs.
The current years plan, ending in March is Rs 3700 Cr. The annual plan meeting was held with legislators concluded today after deliberations were held for two days.
