Shimla: For the conduct of the poll in the Hamirpur parliamentary segment that stretches across three full districts and partially over another district, the state government has declared May 22 a gazetted holiday.
Chief electoral officer, Manisha Nanda said that polling would be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on that day.
Polling parties and security arrangements would start being deployed from May 20. To ensure free, fair and peaceful elections, all arrangements have been made, said Nanda.
The Chief Electoral Officer has asked all the administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners of Kangra and Mandi and deputy commissioners of Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una and Kangra districts to ensure that no violation of conduct rules is done during the bye-election for Hamirpur parliamentary constituency.
