Srinagar: Kashmiri pandits who have not migrated from Kashmir today accused the Center and state government of negligence towards the community.
“It seems the government wants to force those who are living here to leave. Government has left us on the mercy of god. It is because of Muslim brothers who are living here,” said A.K. Rajpuri, president of Hindu welfare society, a Kashmir based organization of pandits who did not migrate from Kashmir during last twenty years.
Rajphori said the government has not even spend a single penny for valley based community out of 1600,00 crore financial package announced for the return and rehabilitation of migrants.
“The organization has been demanding setting up of 30 anganwari centers, pension for old –age and widows rehabilitation centers from last twenty years, but nothing was done in this regard,” said Rajpuri.
Claiming that Revenue Minister, Raman Balla is creating hurdles in their welfare, Rajpuri said, “Police and tehsil administration has completed verification process of the locally displaced Hindus for the allotment of residential quarters at Sheikhpora, Budgam, but the government is just sitting on the matter” Rajphori said at a press conference here.
Rajpuri also demanded a probe into the accidents of killings of minority members since the eruption of militancy.
