Shimla: An ultra-luxury housing project being constructed by DLF in Himachal Pradesh yesterday came under attack of the CPI-M, which demanded a CBI probe into clearances granted to the realtor by the state BJP government.
In just one single day clearance was granted in haste violating all norms to DLF for housing project in Shimla,” Tikender Singh Panwar, state secretariat member of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), said in a statement.
He said the permission to construct the road, linking with the upcoming project, was given by the government in guise of facility being provided to the villagers surrounding DLF complex.
“The government was so desperate to sanction the money that a memorandum signed by 20 people formed the basis for the aforesaid work. Interestingly, four of the signatories died many years before the date of signatures,” Panwar alleged.
The CPI-M has asked for the CBI probe, saying the government has allowed DLF to construct the apartments in the green belt of Kanlog area under the name Samatara apartments.
“Both, the previous Shimla Municipal Corporation led by the Congress and the state BJP government, were responsible for illegally allowing Bemloe Development and Infrastructure Company to construct the apartments for DLF,” he added.
Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Virbhadra Singh has also alleged that top state political functionaries were involved in illegal property transactions and were promoting realtors like DLF.
