CM Commissions Jindal Brothers Nalagarh Thermo Shield Plant

Shimla:Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal inaugurated a thermo shield plant set up by Jindal Brothers Group of companies at Sauri village in Nalagarh sub-division of Solan district, today. On the occasion the chief minister also planted a sapling after initiating the production processing by pressing the power button at the factory, today.

The thermo shield insulated panel unit is the first of its kind in the Nalagarh industrial area and would be useful for maintaining temperatures of buildings. The insulation would help house owners both in extreme cold and hot area, said a company spokesman for Jindal brothers. The group has so far invested Rs 65 crore on three units in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhumal said that special industrial package announced by the Vajpayee led NAD government in 2003 had given a much needed boot to industrial activities in the hill state and the government was attempting to get it extended to its originally announced date till the year 2013.

He said that after assuming office, he had interacted with industrialists from the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area and then with Prakash Singh Badal, the chief minister of Punjab , who has ceded to the demand for a Baddi-Chandigarh road link. The Chandigarh-Mohali expressway is also proposed to be extended to Baddi, said Dhumal.

To facilitate movement of industrial goods, the Pinjore-Swarghat road would be widened into a four lane road for which central government has given its nod. For streamlining revenue issues a sub-tehsil has been opened and for maintaining road infrastructure a public works sub-division has been opened in the industrial area, he said.

Assuring the community that through power banking, Punjab government would be providing 300 MW power in the lean winter period which would be able to meet the power needs during the time.

Ramesh Dhwala, minister for labour and employment, who was also present on the occasion emphasized that industrialists needed to adhere to minimum applicable wages in the state. He also asked the entrepreneurs to implement the 70 percent employment reservation for state residents in letter and spirit.
