Deadlock countinues in Lenovo plant in Himachal

KUMARHATTI: The deadlock has continued in Lenovo plant at Jharmajri near Baddi despite two rounds of talks between agitated workers and company management today. The management has failed to oblige workers’ main demand to reinstate the services of 25 workers who were removed on February 8.

The talk was started in morning after a senior official from Bangalore reached at plant to counter the problem. The workers were invited for talk. After sitting for over 2 hours in meeting, the workers returned empty handed. Talking to media three workers have said that the management was stuck to its decision. The sacked workers were told to get 7 days salary and to leave the plant.

Later led by Mr. G.K. Mehta, state spokesman of INTUC the workers have again approached the management but of no avail. This led to the start of aggressive sloganeering against management thus forcing company management to seek police protection.

The workers continued their dharna till evening and planned to fight for their rights till their demands are met.
On the other side the company management has justified the exclusion of 25 workers. As per management the workers were sacked as per norms. In their appointment letters there was a clause certifying the sacking of worker at pure management discretion, maintained management.

The sacked workers were temporary engaged with company.
