CHAMBA: Major Vijay Singh Mankotia, the BSP candidate for the chief ministerial post of Himachal Pradesh today charged the Congress and BJP both for neglecting the cause of Tribal and cheated them on various issues. He alleged that the successive governments in state had failed to live up to the expectations of the tribal people and had no right to seek their votes in the coming election.
Addressing public meetings at Bharmaur, Mankotia said the tribals had seen the functioning of both the governments, which had only hoodwinked them by make false promises. He said that over 70 per cent of the people of the state were still living below poverty line though the Congress that had ruled the state for over 60 years.
The residents of Bharmaur have seen the real face of the Congress and the BJP and would teach them a lesson in the coming assembly elections, he said.
Mankotia said the BSP on coming to power after the polls would provide employment to the educated unemployed on the lines of what the party had achieved in Uttar Pradesh.
The BSP has emerged as a third force in the state following the failure of the BJP and the Congress on all fronts, he added.
