Shimla : The monsoon which was showing signs of weakening of late has once again become active over Himachal Pradesh during the past two days with many parts of the state experiencing rain.
It rained heavily in the state capital Shimla and adjoining areas in the wee hours. Heavy rainfall washed away a portion of a road on the outskirts of Shimla Friday due to which many vehicles have been stranded.
In the past 24 hours the highest rainfall was recorded at Gohar 92 mm, Poanta Sahib 75 mm and Jogindernagar 69 mm.Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 21.7 C.
The mid and lower hills will experience rain at many places while heavy rainfall has been forecast at isolated places by the weather office.
