Vribhadra Singh, Chief Minister said that State Government would consider taking over of SSA schools under the Government fold and adjust teachers as Primary Assistant Teachers besides considering a suitable policy to secure the services of PTA teachers in the State. He said that tenure of daily wagers in PWD and IPH departments would be increased from 15 days to full month. He was addressing the closing ceremony of the week long International Minjar Fair Prize Distribution function at Chamba today.
Chief Minister said that Rs. 250 crore were being spent under Scheduled Caste Component Plan which had now been carved out of the Annual Plan and would figure as a separate demand in the State budget to ensure speedy development of the SC dominated areas. He said that his Government was committed towards the welfare of the minorities and a separate Welfare Board , OBC and Minorities Development and Finance Corporation were protecting their interests. He said that Gujjars, irrespective of geographical location had been granted ST status.
Singh said that Chamba was rich in culture and tradition which were known to people the world over. He said that Chamba town had completed 1000 years of its existence and millennium celebrations marked the occasion. He said that earlier, Chamba and Sirmaur were known as the most backward districts of the State, where special programmes had been launched which included DPEP, Food for Work, Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojna, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme etc. He said that added attention was paid towards the uniform and balanced development of every area of the State. He said that concerted efforts were being made to develop the areas which had remained under developed due to one reason or other. He said that funds had never been any constraint in carrying out speedy development of the entire State.
