Shimla: A bus conductor, Nikka Ram (38), was found dead near a road at 103 tunnel of the Shimla-Kalka rail track in the city by the police.
We received information about a person lying on the road at about 11.30 p.m., said a spokesman of Shimla west police station. On taking the person to IGMC, hospital, the doctors declared him as brought dead, he added.
Since the death appears to have been caused by an injury to the head by hitting something, the police are treating it as murder and a case under section 302 CrPC has been registered against unknown persons, said a police spokesman.
Nikka Ram was a resident of Sunni tehsil in Shimla district and was currently posted as a booking clerk at the main bus stand.
The murder case has been registered on the basis of a complaint by his brother and investigations have been initiated, said the police.
