A Total of 636 Students Set to Graduate
Dharamsala /Mandi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi in Himachal Pradesh is preparing to host its 12th Convocation on Saturday, 28th September 2024. The ceremony will witness the conferral of degrees upon 636 students, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys.
Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director of IIT Mandi, announced in a press release today that Mr. Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), will deliver the convocation address as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests joining him include Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar; Mr. Narendra Kumar Arya, Director of Electronics and Radar Development at DRDO; and Mr. Krishna Ika, CEO & Chairman of Brainwave Science. Lt. Gen. Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon (Retd.), Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIT Mandi, will preside over the event.
Expressing his congratulations to the graduates, Prof. Behera remarked, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our graduating students. I wish them a fulfilling life and a successful professional journey ahead. May they carry forward the values of IIT Mandi with honesty, integrity, and unwavering dedication to their chosen fields, while raising the institute’s flag high wherever they go.”
This year, IIT Mandi will honor the accomplishments of 636 students, comprising 297 undergraduates, 284 postgraduates, and 55 Ph.D. scholars.
IIT Mandi is renowned for its cutting-edge academic programs and comprises nine academic schools, including the School of Biosciences and Bioengineering (SBBE), the School of Chemical Sciences (SCS), the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (SMSS), and several others. The institute’s research initiatives are supported by advanced centers such as the Advanced Materials Research Centre (AMRC), Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), and the Centre for Quantum Science and Technology (CQST).
IIT Mandi offers a wide range of academic programs, including eleven undergraduate degrees, one M.A. program, ten M.Tech. programs, eleven Ph.D. programs, and one integrated Ph.D. program, providing students with ample opportunities for academic and research excellence.
