Education Minister Rohit Thakur has called for laying emphasis on promoting quality education in private universities of Himachal Pradesh.
Thakur expressed his views while interacting with a delegation of APG Shimla University that was led by Chancellor Engineer Suman Vikrant on Thursday.
Besides the Chancellor, others in the delegation were Pro-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. R. S. Chauhan, and Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Prof.Dr. Ashwani Sharma.
The APG Shimla University delegation apprised the minister about eleven new courses in paramedical courses being started from the new academic session. “These courses would provide quality education and enable good job placement prospects to the students studying at the university,” said Chancellor Vikrant.
Education Minister Rohit Thakur asked for ensuring quality education as it would help the students to secure employment and become self-sufficient.
Chancellor Vikrant informed the Minister that APG Shimla University was providing an excellent environment for promoting quality education on a green campus. “The curriculum was focused on better research and encouraging innovation,” said Chancellor Suman Vikrant.
Located amidst scenic surroundings APG University Shimla has student enrollment from 29 Countries besides there being many students Himachal studying various courses at the institution.
