Dharamshala: The 47th National Sub-Junior Boys and Girls Basketball Championship got underway on 15th November at Nagar Parishad Ground, Kangra in which 51 teams from different states are participating.
Deputy Commissioner Kangra Dr Nipun Jindal administered the oath to all the players from different states to play with the spirit of sportsmanship. Dr. Nipun Jindal formally flagged off the inaugural basketball match of Karnataka and Telangana girls team and encouraged the players.
Dr Nipun Jindal said “sports are the best option to avoid all kinds of anomalies arising in the youth today. youth should make sports activities, yoga and exercise a part of their life. Sports teach us the tricks to deal with many types of problems and crises while remaining positive.” He added that the quality of team spirit developed through sports never makes a person available to nostalgia.
47th National Basketball Sub-Junior Boys and Girls Championship, will conclude on November 21.
