State Tourism Ministers To Deliberate Countrywide Tourism Promotion Strategies

Dharamshala: Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is organizing a three day National Conference of State Tourism Ministers from 18th to 20th September 2022 here that would be chaired by G. Kishan Reddy, Federale Minister of Tourism, Culture and DONER. The conference is to discuss issues related to development of Tourism in the country.

It is informed here through a government press release that the three-day National Conference of State Tourism Ministers will be attended by several Central Ministers, Tourism Ministers from States and Union Territories, Governors, Administrators & Seniors Officials of the Central Government, State Governments, and Heads of the Tourism & Hospitality Associations.

“Shri Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh would be inaugurating the event on 18 th at Hotel D polo here. The event would be attended by H Tourism Ministers of several states including Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Haryana, Sikkim, Goa, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Ladakh, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Kerala, Maharashtra etc. The conference is expected to be attended by approximately 250 delegates,” release said.

The Conference shall focus on the various policies and programmes of the Ministry of Tourism including the development of Tourism Infrastructure, Cultural, Spiritual & Heritage tourism, Tourism in the Himalayan states, Responsible and sustainable tourism, Role of digital technology for the marketing and promotion of tourism destinations, emerging importance of home stays in the Indian hospitality sector, Ayurveda, Wellness, Medical Value travel and promotion of domestic tourism. Other issues such as Wildlife Tourism, Responsible Tourism, tourism related aspects of G-20 will also be discussed along with the review on the implementation of various projects implemented by the Ministry of Tourism.

Earlier in June this year Dharamsala was the venue of a three days national conference of chief secretaries, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now the Tourism Ministers’ National Workshop in Dharamsala shall be the second such event in the city within a year.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal said, “For Tourism Ministers’ National Workshop in Dharamshala, a plan has been prepared by the police for security arrangements. Liaison officers will also be appointed along with tourism ministers coming from outside states, necessary instructions have also been given for this.”

Deputy Commissioner Dr Nipun Jindal said that Dharamshala would also get a new identity through national level events.
