Dharamshala: Dr. RP Govt Medical College, Tanda, a premier medical institution of Himachal Pradesh has been listed at 13th position among all the government medical colleges of the country in a ranking done by Outlook-ICARE survey.
Dr Bhanu Awasthi, principal Tanda Medical College said, “ More significantly, our Institute has been ranked at 6th in Academics and Research with only AIIMS New Delhi, IMS Banaras Hindu University, JIPMER Pondicherry, KGMC Lucknow and MAMC New Delhi ranked at the top 5 institutions in the category.”
He added that the ranking was based on five broad parameters like Academic and Research Excellence, Industry interface and Placement, infrastructure and facilities, Governance & Admissions and diversity and outreach.
Awasthi said that Medical College, Tanda was ranked as 8th among emerging medical colleges in another survey conducted by the India Today Magazine recently.
“The institution over a period has set in place a process to oversee activities related to surveys and ranking which is headed by Dr. Sunil Raina, Professor and Head Community Medicine,” said Dr Awasthi.
Dr. Awasthi also praised Dr. Raman Chauhan, Associate Professor for consistently responding to queries raised during the survey.
Established in 1996, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (DRPGMC) is a government medical college and hospital located in district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh.
