Kullu (Naggar): Students from Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University Ahmedabad joined local groups at Naggar village to participate in the Summer Forest Plantation Drive 2022 here on Wednesday (29th June, 2022).
Sharing her experience Ishita, a CEPT student who participated in the campaign said, “this is the first time I participated in this kind of community activity and there is so much learning in the process.”
Programme guide Nisha Subramanium believes that in this era of global warming it has become an urgent need to give back to nature and replenish it for a healthy tomorrow.
The summer plantation campaign was organised by Himalayan Brothers Adventure (HBA). Brighu Acharya, an eco-tourism expert and founder of HBA informed, “we have been organising tree plantation drives for the last few years with the objective of sensitizing the tourists and other people visiting Naggar regarding the rich biodiversity of Himachal. These drives help visitors to engage with the community and interact with local people.”
Over 400 Deodar trees were planted during the drive.
