Dharamshala: Ms. Uzra Zeya, the Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights of the United States welcomed the Tibetan community at Dharamsala airport on Wednesday morning.
She was given a warm traditional welcome at the airport.
Ms Uzra Zeya is on two days visit to Dharamsala, where she will meet the Dalai Lama on Thursday and officials of Tibetan government in exile
On arrival of the US special coordinator for Tibetan affairs, artists from TIPA performed a traditional welcome dance. Sikyong / president of central Tibetan administration Penpa Tsering and speaker of Tibetan parliament-in-exile Sonal Tenphel received her at Dharamsala airport.
Tibetans are very happy with her arrival at the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile here, hoping for a solution to the long pending Tibetan issue.
