Dharamshala; On Thursday morning the US Under Secretary and special coordinator for Tibetan affairs Uzra Zeya met Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama here at his residence in Mcleodganj. The meeting lasted for about an hour.
President (Sikyong) of the Central Tibetan Administration Penpa Tsering disclosed, “whenever there are meetings with His Holiness it’s always about Tibetan religion, culture, tradition, preservation of the values of the Tibetans and the importance of why Tibetan culture is for the world.
At the meeting the Dalai Lama said that despite the PRC’s best efforts, it had failed to win the Tibetan people and transform their minds. Instead, His Holiness said, the thinking of the Chinese people itself was rapidly changing.
Tibetans living in Dharamsala are very happy with the US Under Secretary visit to Dharamshala and believe that her meeting with the Dalai Lama is very important for the Tibet issue.
Ms. Uzra Zeya arrived in Dharamshala on Wednesday on a two-day visit and is scheduled to leave Dharamshala tomorrow on Friday morning.
