Bilaspur: BJP National President JP Nadda here stated that AIIMS Bilaspur would be made fully functional within six months and people of the region would get highly specialized facilities within the State.
Nadda who along with Union Minister of Health, Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur are on a state visit inaugurated the OPD at the newly constructed AIIMS Kothipura in Bilaspur. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and his cabinet colleagues were present on the occassion.
Rekha of Kullu district became first OPD patient who was diagnosed by Dr. Kapil Sharma of AIIMS Bilaspur.
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony of Covid Vaccination Workers for achieving cent percent vaccination of the targeted eligible population in Himachal Pradesh Nadda said “setting up of AIIMS outside Delhi was a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as first AIIMS was established in Delhi way back in 1960. As many as 22 AIIMS were coming up in entire country and all this was made possible by the Prime Minister.
He said that the foundation stone of this institution was laid about three years back by the Prime Minister and this would have been completed a year ago, but the pace was affected due to corona pandemic. Himachal Pradesh has got an Rs. 500 crore Satellite centre of PGI Chandigarh at Una.
Nadda added that even advanced nations like US had failed to tackle COVID, whereas a nation of 130 crore population led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had succeeded in checking the pandemic by launching the biggest vaccination campaign of the world.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that it was an historic occasion for the State. Start of OPD facility in AIIMS Bilaspuras was a big milestone that would provide best health services in the region and Himachal Pradesh has achieved 100 percent target of second dose of Covid vaccination, he said. Super-specialty treatment of all kinds of diseases would be available at AIIMS Bilaspur, he added.
Union Minister of Health, Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya said that the AIIMS was indeed a biggest gift of the Union Government to the State. He said that Himachal Pradesh has shown a way to other States of the country by achieving this unique distinction of cent percent vaccination.
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur said that India had today emerged a role model for other countries during the testing times of pandemic.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal said that Himachal Pradesh had achieved cent per cent vaccination of the targeted eligible age group.
