Two Covid-19 Deaths At Dharamshala Hospital Raises Alarm

Dharamshala: A 41 year old man was last night brought dead here at the Zonal Hospital. The sampels drawn from the victim have turned out to be Covid-19 positive.

According to the information received, the dead man was a lawyer by profession and a resident of Shahpur area. He was suffering from bouts of high fever for last four days.

On Wednesday night he was brought to the Zonal Hospital in a condition where he was having difficulty in breathing but died before reaching the hospital. The victim is believed to have traveled to Shimla a few days ago and was suffering with persistent fever after coming returning. Two days ago, the lawyer is said to have visited the local court where he met many people.

Dr. Gurdarshan Gupta, chief medical officer of Kangra district said that the person was brought dead to the emergency ward of the hospital on Wednesday midnight. The samples drawn from the victim have today that he was Covid-19 positive.

The CMO said that the emergency ward shad been sealed and sanitized in accordance with prevalant protocols. The contact history of the person is being traced. nvestigated.

This was the second Covid death on Wednesday at the hoospital. Earlier in the day, a 48 year-old Covid positive woman brought here from Chamba district died at Kovid Care Center of the Zonal Hospital Dharamshala. With these two deaths, the death toll from Corona in the district has increased to five.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Himachal Pradesh, the lawyer is 20th coronavirus victim in the state.
