Shimla: Veteran Journalist Ms Rama Sharma, after a prolonged illness, died at Chandigarh on May 30. She was 85.
Ms Sharma was a bilingual journalist who worked for many decades with Navbharat Times, the Hindi daily, and also wrote for Times of India, Femina and other english publications.
Before turning to journalist, she was a public relations officer with HP State Electricity Board in the 1960s-70s, during the tenure of Dr YS Parmar, the first chief minister of the state.
Ms Sharma was a life member of the prestigious Gaiety ARTRC club.
Kanwar Yogender, president Himachal Journalist Forum, Anil Hadely, president Press Club, Shimla and other journalists have condoled the passing away of the senior journalist.
Ms Sharma is survived by a daughter, who is a journalist with The Tribune newspaper at Chandigarh.
