Left can fight dozen seats in Himachal polls

KUMARHATTI: “The left parties jointly could fight around dozen seats in coming Vidhan Sabha poll in state. On other seats the secular forces would be supported.” This was stated by Mr. Jagdish Bhardwaj, state secretariat member of CPI here today. In Solan district the CPI would fight on two seats.

Mrs. Kamlesh Kumari’s name has been cleared for Kasauli seat while for Arki seat the candidate would be finalised later, he said. Other than two seats in Solan the party could field its candidates from Hamirpur, Kangra, Karsog and Chachiot, said Mr. Bhardwaj. There was also a plan to fight from Una seat, he pointed out.

On CPM plan to fight poll from Arki and Chachiot also, Mr. Bhardwaj said that left parties’ coordination committee was already under process to sort out the issue. As an arrangement, the both parties could drop claim from one seat thus paving way to field one join left candidates from both seats, he maintained.

Talking over the issues to be raised during poll propaganda, Mr. Bhardwaj said that besides inflation and corruption the labourers’ plight in state would be exposed. The successive state governments have failed to protect workers’ welfare, he added. EOM
