BJP For Dharamshala As The Financial Capital Of Himachal

Dharamshala: Chief minister Mr Jairam Thakur plans of holding an global investors meet here later in the year, has the ruling party BJP turn it into an election issue by holding that the town is being promoted by the state government as a financial capital of the state.

Critical of congress and its state president Mr Kuldeep Rathore, party spokesman Rakesh Sharma in a communique stated that Congress was not interested in the development of Kangra and Dharamshala. “The state government is organising an all important meet here at the hill city to attract investments to the state, but Mr Rathore and Congress party are unable to appreciate and laud the move for their own vested interests,” said Sharma.

Party members Mr Ramesh Atwal, Brij Lal Kapoor, Dr Vijay Sharma, Ms Sharda Sharma, Mr Rajesh Sharma and Mr Anil Chaudhary who are also signatory to the note state that with the confirmed participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel for the investors meet which will also see the active participation from top industrialist of the country has elevated the stature of Dharamshala that is aspiring to be the financial hub of Himachal.

The global meet shall increase the possibilities of tourism and create employment opportunities for the youth, the say.

The BJP reminded the Congress that Mr Narendra Modi as Chief Minister of Gujarat had held investors meet every year which had led to a tremendous growth in the state and was critical for evolution of the Gujarat model of development.

With the support of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Dharamshala is destined to become the state’s financial capital, state the party leaders.

By-elections for Dharamshala and Pachhad are to be held on 21st October and the result will be declared on 24th October. Vishal Nehria, a newcomer from BJP is pitted against another greenhorn Vijay Inder Kumar at Dharamshala and first timer Rena Kashyap takes on veteran congressman Gangu Ram Musafir at Pachhad in Sirmaur.

Soon after conclusion of the by-poll, Dharamshala is to host at two day global investor meet on 7-8 November.
