Former HRTC Employees To Agitate For Pension Benefits

Mandi: Path Parivahan Pensioners Kalyan Sangathan, an organisation of former HRTC employees, has served notice on the state public transport services management over demands for clearing the financial benefits that are due to them.

Brij Lal Dhiman, president of the organisation told the media here that they had put their demands before the HRTC management many times but the corporation has always ignored these demands. “HRTC has failed to provide pension to its employees who retired after 2013,” he said.

Dhiman said that there were about 600 retired employees of the Himachal Pradesh Roads Transport Corporation (HRTC) who were suffering at the hands of the management. He added that these retired employees were awaiting for their medical reimbursement and interim relief but the state government was ignoring their demands.

An agitated Dhiman said that the former HRTC would ‘Gherao’ the MD office at Shimla and would fight for their rights with hunger strike and other modes of protests. He warned that retired employees were losing their patience and could resort to extreme steps unless the HRTC was failing to pay them their financial benefits of about Rs 100 crores.
