Dharamshala: Chief minister Virbhadra Singh publicly felicitated Sushma Verma, the wicket keeper of the Indian women cricket team, here on Tuesday for the performance that the team put up in the recently concluded World Cup where the Indian team were runners up.
The chief minister presented a cheque of Rs 5 lakhs to Sushma and also offered the post of a police officers post that of deputy superintendent of police (DySP) to the young achiever who has brought laurels to the state.
Sushma Verma hails from Gaderi village in Shimla district.
Speaking on the occasion, Sushma Verma said ,” it is a dream for me to serve in the police and I’m thankful to the chief minister for offering me an officers position.”
The chief minister said that she was an inspiration for other young players of the state.
