Dharamshala: For the total eradication of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella a signature campaign here was started from the the district hospital.
District Medical Officer Dr. Rajesh Guleri announced that the awareness campaign about Rubella Vaccination was started by Ms Rajni Vyas, the mayor of Dharamshala Municipal Corporation.
Speaking about the program, Dr Guleri said that a MMR vaccination programme to protect against measles, mumps, and rubella was being launched in the district from 1st August.
“Every child between the age of 9 months to 15 years shall be vaccinated under this program, said Dr Guleria. In this vaccination programme all the government and private schools and the Aangan Waadis would be vaccinated by well trained health officials.
There is a safe and effective vaccine to protect against Rubella. The vaccine is given as part of a combination vaccine, called the MMR vaccine that protects against measles, mumps, and rubella.
