The Division Bench of High Court, comprising of Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, have taken a serious view of the water shortage problem in Shimla. In response to an application filed by senior advocate Ramakant Sharma, the bench has sent directions to the Principal Secretary and the Engineer-in-Chief of Irrigation and Public Health to respond to the application on 3rd May.
Ramakant Sharma has been appointed the amicus curiae in this matter. In his application, he pointed out that the water supply to the capital has decreased considerably in comparison to the actual demand.
