Jyotika Dutta, a Commonwealth Games silver medalist in fencing has been selected to represent the country at the senior fencing competition to be held in Shanghai, China. She, along with three other team members has left for China. compete
Jyotika, who hails from Rohru in Shimla district, is only 18 and is the youngest in the team that includes Rabika Devi, Stafita and Pawandeep. The senior fencing competition will take place from 13 to 18 April.
The young girl is an inspiration for other fencers as she has won junior level competitions both at the national and international levels.
Jyotika has represented India at the Bangkok Junior Asian Championship held in 2012-13, the Doha World Cup held in 2013-14 & 2014-15, the World Championship held in Morocco and the Asian Championship held in Mongolia 2015.
