Kullu: Breakout of jaundice in the state, especially in Shimla and Solan cities that has even claimed lives of about two dozen people, has put the administration here on alert.
Presided over by district magistrate Hans Raj Chauhan, a day long media workshop about jaundice awareness was conducted today.
Speaking on the occasion he said, the administration was making all efforts to contain any spread of waterborne diseases, which included jaundice.
Chauhan sought the active participation of various media platforms for creating awareness among the populace about keeping water sources clean and taking to drinking boiled water wherever a jaundice case is reported from.
District health officer Dr Susheel Kumar highlighted the health issues associated with waterborne diseases and made a presentation about what the health authorities were doing for creating public awareness about preventive health measures to be adopted in the district.
