Kullu: International Dussehra Festival Kullu this year will be extra-special; a huge Tricolor has been planned to be unfurled on a 100 feet flagpole at district headquarters.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kullu, Rakesh Kanwar while interacting with the media told, ”A 20/30 sized Tricolor would be hoisted near Devsadan, Rath ground at Dhalpur. Flag wouldn’t be lowered at the sunset; the flag would be kept illuminated throughout the night. It is a proud moment for every Indian; there is a plan to develop the site as a multipurpose cultural complex in coming days. ”

Giving information about the Tricolor to be hoisted during Dussehra, Kanwar further added, “This National flag weighs 9 kg and made of Denier polyester in Mumbai. It will be first Tricolor in the state and is dedicated to our great and courageous soldiers.”

It’s learnt that the Ministry of Home Affairs, on December 23 2009, had made a decision which allows the National Flag to flutter 24 hours a day on a 100 feet high pole illuminating during nights.
