Shimla: To create awareness and check for common diseases prevalent among adolescences, the health club of the prestigious St Bede’s College organized an health camp where a free health check up of students was conducted.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with doctors and staff from Deen Dyal Upadhyah Hospital, Shimla. The hospital team consisted of Dr. Manisha Sharma, Dr. Kanika Sharma and Dr. Pallavi Sharma along with accompanying para-medical staff.
The doctors checked the weight, height, blood pressure and pulse rate. They also counseled the students regarding the care to be taken about their health. About 280 students got their health checkup done at the daylong camp. The students were also given health records cards.
The health camp was held under the guidance of faculty members Dr. Anita Khanna, Ms. Swati Kondal and Ms. Shruti Tomar, who are also members of the college health club. Student representatives Vaishali Chauhan and Shyamlee Thakur helped out in smooth organization of the camp.
A student at St Bede’s College, Apoorva is also incharge of the media cell at the prestigious girls college
