Haridwar, Rishikesh ashrams on Green Tribunal Ganga pollution watch

Dehradun: Based on a survey report of Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board, the National Green Tribunal has taken cognizance of untreated sewage waste being discharged into Ganga River by ashrams, hotels and other at the holy towns of Haridwar and Rishikesh.

The report by the pollution control board has recorded that of the 22 major ashrams in Haridwar and Rishikesh  17 were dumping  untreated sewage into the Ganga.
