Shimla: To increase on campus co-curricular participation APG University, Shimla has established an eco-park that has facilities for various adventure activities.
Inaugurated today by Pro Chancellor Dr Ashwani Kumar, the newly opened Eco park is equipped with Zipline, Barma Bridge, Rippling, Grappling, Valley Crossing, Single Ropeway crossing, Commando Net and trekking facilities.
Speaking on the occasion Vice-chancellor Dr Srinivas Golakotti said that the park had tenting accommodation for overnight stay of 50 participants available.
“Other than teachers, students and university employees, the Eco-park facilities can also be availed by tourists visiting Shimla”, said Golakotti.
The park developed over a two year period permits about 100 people to participate in the adventure activities at one time.
Besides the Pro Chancellor and Vice Chancellor, those present on the occasion included Registrar Rajan Sehgal, director (finance) Garvit Goyal, director (administration) Pankaj Dixit, Director Legal Studies Trisha Sharma, Dean Students Welfare Sushil K Sharma, assistant registrar Pranav Bhandari among others.
