Shimla: A public transport Himachal Roadways bus while attempting to save a motor cycle rider with a pillion rider on board collided with the two wheeler, lost control and rolled down the valley side at Chatrod Nallah, about 7 kilometers from Mandi, today morning.
“Both the motorcycle riders were killed on the spot and one old man, who was in the bus but was rescued from the accident site, succumbed to injuries in the hospital,” Mohit Chawla, district police chief let Hill Post know over the phone.
In all there were 10 people, which included the driver and the conductor, were in the bus when it met with the accident. The remaining 9 have sustained injuries and are being treated at the Mandi district hospital.
Chief minister Virbhadra Singh, Governor Urmila Singh and transport minister GS Bali have expressed grief over the accident.
