Shimla: Eight people had died and another 3 are feared dead in the wreckage of a bus that met with an accident near Renukaji (about 25 Kms from Nahan) a little while ago.
Talking to Hill Post over phone from the accident site, deputy commissioner Vikas Labroo said the rescue and relief personnel involved at the accident site have retrieved 8 bodies.
Labroo who is supervising the rescue operation added, “fall of darkness is hindering the operation. Another 3 to 4 are feared to be trapped in the bus wreckage.”
He said that about 43 of the injured passengers had been admitted to Dadau and Nahan hospitals, where they were being treated.
In all about 60 people are believed to have been in the bus when it met with an accident.
The bus is said to be an private one that was carrying tourist from Saharanpur area, who were headed to Renukaji, when it lost control on a hill road and fell more than 100 meters into the valley.
A crane had been requisitioned to pull out the bus and free the bodies that are feared to be trapped inside it.
Governor Smt. Urmila Singh and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh have expressed grief over the bus accident.
They have expressed deep condolences with the bereaved family members and wished speedy recovery to those injured.
