Tourist resorts in Himachal experience snowfall

Shimla: Tourist resorts of Manali, Dalhousie, Kufri, and Narkanda experiences light to moderate spell of snowfall in the state on the eve of new year as number of tourists were already arrived here.

Where the popular tourist resort of Manali experienced about five centimeter snowfall, it was much higher at Jalori Jot, Solang Nalah and Marhi near Manali.

Dalhousie in Chamba district received 30 cm, Tissa 13 cm, Saluni 12 cm and Bharmour 10 cm snowfall. Traffic on the Chamba Pathakot road near Banikhet was disrupted because of snow.

Headquarter of Lahaul Spiti district Keylong and Udaipur had four centimeter each snowfall. The high reaches like  the 13050 ft high Rohtang Pass recorded over two feet of fresh snow.

Lady of Keylong, Goshal Hill, Koksar, Seven Sister hills and Kunjum Pass also experienced heavy snowfall over the past 24 hours.

The city here wore a cloudy sky throughout the day after wind storm, last night, brought about a light spell of rain and towards the morning some snow in the higher  altitudes.

Mashobra recorded two centimeter snow, Kufri, Narkanda  and Kharapathar it was ten centimeters.

High reaches of Kinnuar have been receiving snowfall with Kalpa and Sangala reporting more than three centimeter. Road operators have said that the traffic most of Kinnaur district on the highway to Kaurik was still open.

The Met office has forecast more snow over the next 24 hours in the higher reaches of the state.
