Himachal CMs wife, son, daughter have shares in Tarini Infra – Arun Dhumal

Dharamshala: Former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal’s younger son Arun Thakur (Dhumal) here today leveled serious charges against chief minister Virbhadra Singh and circulated documents claiming that Pratibha Singh (wife of CM and MP from Mandi), Aprajita Kumari (daughter of CM), Vikramaditya Singh (son of CM) and Amit Pal Singh (OSD to CM) hold shares in Tarini Infrastructures Ltd, a company floated by Tarini, who is the daughter of Vakamulla Chandershekher.

Speaking to reporters Arun said, “Pratibha Singh, an MP, the  son and daughter of Virbhadra Singh, CM Himachal, have substantial holdings in Vakamulla Chandershekher ‘s company.”

He alleged that Virbhadra’s family first took crores of rupees from Vakamulla Chandershekher and used that very money to buy shares in his company itself.”

Arun distributed copies of the Annual Return share statement of Tarini Infrastructures Ltd to the media.

The document showed that Pratibha Singh and her daughter Aprajita Kumari having 3,40 lakh shares each ,while his son Vikramaditya Singh has 3 lakh share of the value of Rs 10 each in Tarini Infrastructure.

Interestingly Amit Pal Singh, an officer on special duty to the CM also is shown to have 10,000 shares in the contentious company.

At a press conference convened in the HPCA stadium, Arun also claimed the Virbhadra Singh had withheld such important information and not disclosed it to the election commission in the affidavit filed before it.

“Virbhadra purposely did not disclose to the election commission that Vakamulla Chandershekher of Tarini Infrastructures has given crores of rupees to him, his wife Pratibha Singh (MP) and son Vikramaditya, the youth congress president,” said Arun.

The amount taken is much more than what has been reflected in election commissions’ affidavit of Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh, he added.

He alleged that there was a quid pro quo case of favoring Vakamulla Chandershekher’s company Venture Energy’s Tech Ltd  to relax allotment terms for a 15 MW hydropower project at Sai Koti after a  high powered committee appointed by a congress government in 2005 had rejected it. The proposal to revive the allotment was later brought to the cabinet on three times but it was rejected, claimed Arun.

He termed the chief ministers claims of taking a Rs 4 crore loan from Vakamulla Chandershekher on 12% interest, when there was already Rs 10 crore lying in the chief minister bank accounts as laughable.

According to my information Virbhadra Singh has taken Rs 3.50 crore loan, his wife Pratibha Singh Rs 2.10 crore and son Vikrmaditya has taken Rs 2 crore from Vakamulla Chandershekher, which has not been in the affidavits filed before the election commissions, said Arun.

Earlier Arun had also produced the revised income tax returns of the chief minister three financial years 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 whereby agriculture income for the three years, which was shown as Rs 7.35 lakh, Rs 15 lakh and Rs 25 lakh were later revised upwards to Rs 2.21 crore, Rs 2.8 crore and Rs 1.55 crore.
