New Delhi, July 2 (IANS) The Ministry of Women and Child Development has sent a two-member team to flood-hit Uttarakhand to asses the impact of the tragedy on children.
The team comprises chairperson of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Kushal Singh and joint secretary in the ministry Vivek Joshi, an official release said.
It said the decision to send the team was taken by Minister of Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath, who Tuesday reviewed the situation in the devastated state.
The floods have left many children homeless and orphaned.
