No arrest in AAP leader’s accident case yet

Ghaziabad, July 1 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Police are yet to identify and arrest the man who tried to kill Aam Aadmi Party leader Santosh Koli by ramming his speeding car into the motorcycle on which she was riding pillion.

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon near Kaushambi Metro station here. The motorcycle later caught fire.

“Motorcycle rider Kuldeep Panwar has lodged a complaint alleging that it was an attempt to kill Koli. We have registered a case and investigations are on,” said Superintendent of Police Shiv Shankar Yadav.

Koli is the AAP’s candidate from Sundar Nagari constituency for the coming Delhi assembly elections. She is in a critical condition in a hospital.

“Santosh (Koli) has been an active leader of the party in Sundar Nagari. (AAP chief) Arvind Kejriwal staged an agitation from her residence against inflated power bills. She may have been targeted by political rivals,” AAP leader said Manish Sisodia said Sunday.
