Buenos Aires, June 13 (IANS) At least three people were killed and 55 others injured, five of them critically, in a train collision which occurred 30 km from the Argentine capital Thursday, local media reported.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred when a passenger train rammed into the rear end of a stationary train near the Castelar station, Xinhua reported.
Firefighters and rescue crews were working at the accident site to pull out passengers trapped inside the first train while the surrounding area was shut for the traffic.
The collision took place on the Sarmiento line, where 51 people had been killed in a February 2011 train accident.
