New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) There was some relief from the scorching heat for Delhi residents Sunday as the maximum temperature settled at 38.5 degrees Celsius – two notches below the season’s average. The Met Office has forecast an overcast sky Monday.
“It was relatively less hot weekend. The sun did not beat down hard on us today (Sunday),” said Samrendra Singh, a resident of south Delhi.
Sunday’s minimum temperature, too, settled a notch below average at 26.6 degrees. Humidity wavered between a high and low of 79 and 46 percent.
“The sky will be partly cloudy on Monday, but the mercury is expected to rise,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
Monday’s maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 40 and 28 degrees Celsius, the IMD official said.
