India thrash Nepal in south Asian basketball meet

New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) India thrashed Nepal 109-26 in the FIBA Asia Championship qualifiers at the Thyagraj Indoor Stadium here Sunday.

Narender Kumar Grewal, Joginder Singh and Amritpal Singh were the top scorers with 14 points each in the one-sided encounter.

Sushil Gurung and Sanjay scored nine and seven points, respectively, for Nepal.

Afghanistan play Nepal Monday while India take on Afghanistan in the final match Tuesday.
