One shot dead on Assam-Nagaland border

Guwahati, June 3 (IANS) A man was killed when unidentified assailants fired upon a group of labourers in Assam’s Jorhat district Monday morning, an official said.

The incident occurred at around 9.30 a.m. at Naginijan area on the Assam-Nagaland border. The deceased, a labourer, has been identified as Sanjay Bhumij.

Additional security forces were deployed in the area after the killing.
