MPs asked to donate for Uttarakhand

New Delhi, June 26 (IANS) Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari and Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar Wednesday urged MPs to donate a month’s salary and a suitable amount from their local area development fund for relief efforts in flood-hit Uttarakhand.

“We appeal to all members to contribute from their MPLADS funds as permissible under the guidelines and donate their one month’s salary for relief and rehabilitation works in the affected areas,” said a communication from the heads of the two houses of parliament.
