Kolkata, June 3 (IANS) Newly-appointed interim chief of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Jagmohan Dalmiya Monday said former secretary Sanjay Jagdale would not be returning to his post while former treasurer Ajay Shirke has been given 24 hours time to make up his mind.
“Jagdale has made it clear that he has no intention to withdraw his resignation. This has been his (Jagdale) stand so far,” Dalmiya told reporters here.
Talking about Shirke, who also quit his post of the treasurer, Dalmiya said: “We have not received any commitment from him one way or another. I am hopeful he will return and we are going to wait for another 24 hours to get back to us.”
Jagdale and Shirke resigned their BCCI posts Friday in the wake of the IPL spot fixing scandal and cricket board chief N. Srinivasan refusing to step down after his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested for betting in IPL.
