Guest house manager sets up spycams in rooms, arrested

Jaipur, June 13 (IANS) A guest house manger was arrested here Thursday for setting up spy cameras inside the rooms and making obscene video clippings of the couples staying in them, a police officer said.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Gagandeep said that the accused was working at the Royal City Guest House in Jawahar Circle area of the city.

“We received a complaint from its owner Vimal Jain that his employee Dilip Choudhary, 23, who was working as its manager had recorded several couples, who had stayed in the guest house, in compromising positions using spy cameras,” said the officer.

Acting on the complaint, police searched the guest house and recovered a spy camera and 16 GB memory card used for storing footage, the officer said.

“Dilip would set up spy camera in rooms booked by couples. After they left, he would upload the video clippings to his mobile from the memory card. We have found some footage showing a couple in compromising situation. Further investigation is on,” said the officer.

The guest house owner came to know about cameras when he tried to sack Dilip.

“Dilip threatened Vimal that he would approach police and tell them that the guest house owner had spy cameras installed in rooms. He tried to blackmail Vimal,” said the officer.
